DUNKIN DONUTS

Opened: November 18.

What: Let the donut wars begin. American donut pushers Dunkin’ bring their fried dough to mainland China for the first time. This is supposed to be store number one of one hundred.

Look: Pink and orange, with the pretense of a coffee shop.

Food: Jelly-filled, chocolate-frosted, sprinkled, crullered, and plain. None of those ones with the handles for dunking though, despite the store name. No toasted-coconut either, but there is Dunkin’s trademark fresh-ground coffee.

Price: All donuts, ¥6; coffee, ¥12-20.
