  • Charlotte Ronson to Open in Shanghai

  • Charlotte Ronson to Open in Shanghai

Fashionistas take note: China's first Charlotte Ronson boutique is to open in Xintiandi this September. This New York fashion brand is known for its hip, urban take on casual women's wear, and the well-connected designer herself has quickly become one of the most sought after American designers after her first New York Fashion Week runway show in 2009.

  • Open Store: Accessorize

Popular British high street brand Accessorize has landed in Shanghai in a rather low-profile way. There were no millions of posters around the city, no advertisement on the buses and no celebrities flying into town for its opening. Well, all the better for us - at least there is no 50-meter-long queue in front of the shop.

  • Open Store: CatS
Want to pimp up the foyer of your lovely pet cat? There is no better place to go than this newly opened cat furniture store. It carries smartly designed cat houses, cat trees, cat condos, litter boxes and scratching poles, all made with environmentally friendly PVC foam boards.

  • I Want...Uniqlo 'Shanghai Pop Culture Project' T-Shirt

Uniqlo is opening its largest global flagship store on Nanjing Xi Lu in Shanghai on May 15. To celebrate the occasion, a range of 'Shanghai Pop Culture Project' T-shirts will be launched at the opening. This is a collaboration between Uniqlo and famed local designers, including Hang Feng, Jellymon, Perk and To Meet You Graphic. Our favorite is this cool vintage-style 'Shang Hai Chao (Shanghai Wave) ' tee by To Meet You Graphic.

  • Open Store: mrkt Flagship Store
It seems to take forever for the winter to go away this year, but good news is that you can cheer yourself up at mrkt's new flagship store in Infinity Plaza. Compared to the original mrkt on Julu Lu, this new outlet is much bigger in size and therefore have more products to offer, including furniture, stationary, accessories and gifts. If you're into modern, smart design with a sense of humor, you'll fall in love with these colorful and innovative goodies at the first sight (like we did).

  • I Want...Sony Vaio W Eco Edition
Recently launched in China, the Sony Vaio W Eco Edition is a green mini notebook for today's eco-conscious customers. Twenty percent of the material used in the cover, palm rest and incidental parts is recycled from DVD and CD waste. Its carrying case is made of 100% recycled PET material. Even the standard printed manual is replaced by an electronic user manual. We love it!

  • Open Store: Juice
Juice is not a juice store. It's a brand new streetwear boutique opened by former movie star Edison Chen, who quit the Hong Kong show business after his 'sexy photo gate' scandal in 2008. Obviously the scandal hasn't tarnished his image as a fashion icon. The opening party of Juice Shanghai was packed with street fashion fans as well as famous desingers and stars like Hiroshi Fujiwara and Sam Lee.

  • Open Store: Meuh!

The goodies we spot at Meuh! are just as adorable as its name. This cute little shop was opened by French designer Helene Meunier at the end of 2009, and her vintage-inspired, bold-colored desigh is so lively and funky that you can hardly get your eyes off them.

  • I Want...Absolut Rock Edition

Absolut Vodka definitely knows how to tickle our heart (and catch our eyes) with its bold and fashionable packaging. Its latest offering is Absolut Rock Edition, whose leather-and-stud design pays tribute to rock music. Smells like teen spirit, anyone?

  • I Want...The Garden Collection by H&M

SH is an enthusiast of green fashion, so no wonder the Garden Collection by H&M caught our eye with its combination of remantic, youthful design and organic/recycled materials. All the garments in this spring collection have been produced with sustainable materials or recycled PET bottles and textile waste. Though they won't be available in H&M stores till the end of March, we think a preview of the garden inspired collection is exactly what we need in Shanghai's gloomy winter!

  • Open Store: Mannings

Watsons, watch out! Mannings, the self-claimed 'Hong Kong's No.1 personal health & beauty retailer', has finally landed in Shanghai.

  • I Want...55DSL x Adidas Originals tee

We can't wait for the 55DSL x Adidas Originals tees hit the shelves in Shanghai at the beginning of January. Inspired by graffiti and pop art, this collection is made of five super cool T-shirts with different thems - Music, Hot, Actions (pictured), Pranks and Arts. Take your time to decide which one suits you best!

  • Open Store: Nengmao Store

Nengmao Store won over a lot of fans with its retro decor and a vast collection of vintage toys when it first opened in an old warehouse on Wanhang Du Lu two years ago. So it came as a shock when it was closed last year. However, this indie store is now making a comeback, so get ready, Shanghai!

  • I want...Rockstar Sunglasses

They are probably not made for the street, but they will definitely make you stand out on the overcrowded terrace of Bar Rouge. Rock baby, rock!

  • I Want...LED Ice Bucket
Here comes the festive season! If you plan to open a bottle of champagne in your air-conditoned apartment, be sure to grab one of these lovely LED Ice Bucket from Artdecotek. Now get the party started!
