Jazz

WVC TRiO + 1
WVC TRiO+1 is formed by Malaysian pianist Tay Cher Siang in 2004. The other members of the group are bassist Vincent Ong, drummer Adam Osmianski and saxophonist Benjamin Lee. To them, jazz is not just about tradition, and they are known for mixing various musical styles and their new approach to compositions and performance. Mar 15, 10.30pm. Hanggai Live In Shanghai
Founded by Mongolian punk rocker Ilchi, Hanggai from Beijing is devoted to traditional Mongolian songs. They mix throat singing with rock instruments to make for a spacious, mesmerizing sound. Local King

St. Vincent
Although it sounds 100 percent masculine, St. Vincent is actually the alter ego of Annie Clark, a talented female singer/songwriter from Texas. With her first album ‘Marry Me’ two years ago, she soon won accolades with its precocious arrangements and elegant lyrics. If you like pop music with a dreamy twist, this is the show for you. Hell United is an underground heavy metal association made of four Chinese bands. This Is Us - Backstreet Boys World Tour
It seems Backstreet Boys can never get enough of Shanghai. This is the third time they’ve hosted a concert in our city, though one of the boys – Kevin - is absent this time since he’s no more with the group. The venue is smaller too, but they will make it up by performing for two nights in a row. Expect to hear all their biggest hits such as ‘Get Down’ and ‘We Got It Going On’.
