OPEN BAR: VOGUE

Open Bar: Vogue

November 5th, 2009

The buzz: Club G Plus takes over the two-floor space that used to be Simply Life in Xintiandi and transforms it into Vogue, a super chic hip hop club.

The decor: It's huge, it's white, and it's as fashionable as its name. We like the fact that the whole first floor is designed like a lobby area - you can wait for your fashionalbly late friends or simply take a breather here. Upstairs is furnished with red sofas, shiny metal tables and floor-to-ceiling silver tassels. The eye-catching rose motif is everywhere: carved on the wall, looking down from the ceilingand even glowing on the facade of the building.

The drinks: You can find all the common cocktails on the menu, but opening bottles is the norm here (think Ballentine or Chivas).

The music: As the hip hop alter ego of G Plus, Vogue seems to believe everything goes as long as the guests are happy. You'll find yourself listening to chart topping hip hop, R&B, pop and even smash hits from Korea all night. Eclectic? Not really. Entertaining? Yes.

The crowd: Younger than the people at G Plus. It's a hip hop club, after all.

Why you'll be back: To dance to hip hop with your friends in a stylish, friendly environment.
